VerifiedX announced a partnership with BitGo through a Memorandum of Understanding to support qualified custody for vBTC, a non-synthetic, fully collateralized Bitcoin token issued via the VerifiedX Network and deployed on Base. The collaboration allows institutions, asset managers, family offices, and corporations to custody vBTC.b immediately through BitGo's infrastructure, while also enabling direct redemption to Bitcoin without intermediaries. This setup preserves the core principles of ownership, redemption, and security, addressing institutional needs for reliable Bitcoin utility.

The vBTC.b token is designed to facilitate a range of applications, including yield vaults, lending, treasury management, collateralization, and cross-chain liquidity, all while maintaining native Bitcoin redemption rights. This approach reduces counterparty risks and smart contract vulnerabilities, offering a secure and compliant framework for institutional Bitcoin use.

BitGo, which safeguards over $49 billion in Bitcoin, provides regulated custody services with robust security measures. VerifiedX complements this with compliance tools, transaction monitoring, and institutional controls, aiming to build a comprehensive financial operating system for Bitcoin that supports programmable assets and automation.

This partnership marks a step toward transforming Bitcoin from a passive store of value into an active, programmable financial asset, enabling broader institutional participation in Bitcoin-based applications and infrastructure.
