On August 14, Cboe filed applications to introduce the first 3× leveraged exchange-traded funds (ETFs) on Bitcoin and Ethereum in the U.S. The proposed funds aim to provide approximately three times the daily exposure to the prices of BTC and ETH. If approved by the SEC, these ETFs would mark a new type of investment product in the U.S. market, primarily targeting short-term traders. Such leveraged ETFs could significantly boost intraday trading activity, increase demand for hedging, and promote futures trading. Currently, these are only application submissions, and no final decision has been made. The status remains as submitted documents, with the product launch not yet confirmed.
