OpenAI has announced that GPT-6 Astra is now generally available on Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Web Services' platform for deploying AI models. GPT-6 Astra operates on the Amazon Bedrock inference engine, which is built for high performance, security, and scalability. Organizations can access GPT-6 Astra directly through Amazon Bedrock APIs or configure it within ChatGPT Work and Codex for software development and knowledge work. The model's capabilities include reconciling conflicting data, analyzing extensive documents, investigating large codebases, and working across multiple applications and workflows.

Security and governance are prioritized, with safeguards evaluated through OpenAI’s Preparedness Framework, reaching the Critical cybersecurity classification. Amazon Bedrock enforces data encryption, access governance via AWS IAM policies, and zero-operator access, ensuring inference data remains secure and private. Data used during inference is not used for training, and users can opt for data retention controls.
