Mass Testing of Autonomous Humanoid Robots at Beijing Competition

Starting August 22, 2026, the World Humanoid Robot Games 2026 in Beijing have showcased robots capable of performing complex tasks autonomously. More than 40% of the competitions focus on robots executing real-world scenarios such as connecting cables, warehouse operations, cargo transportation, restaurant and office service, and emergency response. On the first day, robots achieved record speeds, surpassing human performance in 100-meter and 400-meter sprints. The emphasis is on their ability to recognize objects, determine positions, select appropriate actions, and correct errors independently, without human intervention. These tests highlight the progress toward practical deployment of autonomous humanoid robots in industry and service sectors, although commercial maturity remains to be achieved.
