Indonesia Launches First University AI Center in Collaboration with NVIDIA and Indosat

The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi), Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (Indosat or IOH), NVIDIA, and Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) have jointly launched the UGM Indosat NVIDIA AI Technology Center (NVAITC) in Yogyakarta, marking Indonesia's first university-based AI technology hub. This initiative is part of Indonesia's broader strategy to enhance its AI capabilities and foster local expertise in the field.

The center is expected to serve as a platform for AI research, development, and talent cultivation within Indonesia. It aims to provide students and researchers with access to advanced AI tools and infrastructure, facilitating innovation and practical applications tailored to local needs.
