The workflow leverages a custom skill called the Weekly Business Reporting Assistant, which guides users through a repeatable process that sources data from a designated folder in Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP.

The process begins with preparing a specific folder containing approved reports and data, which is then exposed via an Amazon S3 access point. This access point provides Amazon Quick with controlled read-only access, ensuring that only authorized content is used for reporting. The source files, such as weekly reviews, forecasts, and risk registers, remain in the existing storage system, preserving organizational governance.

Using the Amazon Quick Desktop application, users activate the reporting skill, which loads the relevant knowledge base and guides them through querying, citing, and generating reports, decks, or summaries. The system also constructs a personal knowledge graph, linking related people, documents, and actions, enhancing contextual understanding.

Once reports are generated and reviewed, users can draft Slack summaries directly within the platform, which are staged for approval before posting to designated channels. This process ensures transparency, accountability, and compliance with organizational policies.
