Built Technologies has developed an advanced AI-powered document processing engine on AWS, significantly improving automation in real estate finance. The system leverages Amazon Bedrock and AWS's Intelligent Document Processing Accelerator to classify, split, extract, evaluate, and reason over complex documents such as loan agreements, insurance certificates, and appraisal reports.

This new solution addresses the challenges of processing large, inconsistent, and domain-specific documents, which traditionally required manual effort. By employing generative AI and a modular pipeline orchestrated with AWS Step Functions, the system can handle over 250 document types, process millions of documents, and deliver results in minutes instead of days.

The architecture integrates OCR via Amazon Textract or Bedrock for reading documents, followed by classification and splitting using AI prompts, dynamic schema generation for extraction, and confidence scoring with human review for low-confidence results. This approach enables the system to interpret documents contextually, identify relevant sections, and reason over obligations and requirements.

The platform supports multiple agentic workflows across real estate finance, including draw package review, loan agreement analysis, insurance validation, and asset management. Its shared infrastructure allows rapid deployment of new document types and workflows, accelerating Built’s AI roadmap.

This development demonstrates how generative AI can transform document-heavy industries by enabling faster, more accurate, and scalable workflows. It also highlights AWS’s role in providing the foundational tools for such innovations, potentially influencing broader adoption of AI in financial and real estate sectors.
