Bluesight, a healthcare software provider, has developed a comprehensive agentic AI platform called Prism, which integrates six healthcare compliance products. This evolution was driven by the need to automate complex compliance tasks across hospital networks, reducing manual effort and increasing accuracy.

The company partnered with AWS to utilize Amazon Bedrock's AgentCore, a production-grade infrastructure that supports secure, scalable, and compliant AI deployment. This infrastructure enabled Bluesight to rapidly develop and deploy AI agents capable of reasoning over multiple data sources, such as drug purchase records, shortage data, and eligibility information.

The initial prototype, built during a three-day AWS Experience-Based Acceleration (EBA) sprint, was focused on drug diversion detection within the ControlCheck product. It demonstrated significant improvements in query speed and accuracy, leading to a full production deployment within nine months.

Building on this success, Bluesight conducted a second EBA to create a multi-product AI system that orchestrates across several compliance tools to automate GPO prohibition audits. This system uses deterministic scoring and rule-based logic to ensure transparency and regulatory compliance, while leveraging large language models for data gathering and report generation.

The architecture emphasizes security and compliance, deploying within a private cloud environment, with comprehensive audit trails and data encryption. Early results show substantial workflow efficiencies, including up to 97% faster report generation and a 90% reduction in pre-investigation time.

Looking ahead, Bluesight plans to expand Prism’s capabilities to additional compliance use cases and scale the solution across more hospitals, leveraging the reusable architecture and the growing network of participating healthcare providers.

This development highlights how agentic AI, supported by robust infrastructure like Amazon Bedrock, can transform regulated industries by enabling secure, scalable, and explainable automation of complex workflows.
