Atos partnered with AWS to conduct a three-day AI League event aimed at rapidly upskilling 400 engineers in agentic AI. Unlike conventional workshops, this event focused on practical, hands-on experience, enabling engineers to build multi-agent systems using AWS services such as Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, AWS Lambda, and Amazon SageMaker.
The event's format included an initial workshop, daily support calls, and a final competition where engineers developed autonomous AI agents navigating a dungeon maze. The challenge tested various AI engineering skills, including pathfinding, guardrails, memory, and model fine-tuning, with scores reflecting both performance and efficiency.
Participants ranged from experienced AWS developers to those with minimal prior knowledge of agentic AI, providing a diverse learning environment. The event demonstrated key lessons in prompt engineering, multi-agent architecture, guardrail configuration, and observability, all directly applicable to real-world AI deployment.
The practical approach led to significant skill development, with internal champions emerging and solutions incorporating advanced strategies like custom pathfinding and memory-aware agents. The top solutions showcased thoughtful engineering, and the event fostered a collaborative environment for knowledge sharing.
AWS plans to offer AI League events throughout 2026, providing a flexible format supported by AWS infrastructure and facilitation, aiming to accelerate AI skills development across enterprises.
The event enhanced practical AI skills among engineers, promoting enterprise adoption of agentic AI and AWS services.
